Agustín Romo

Agustín Romo
Agustín Romo is an Argentine far-right digital strategist, political operative, and legislator affiliated with La Libertad Avanza (LLA), the ultralibertarian party led by President Javier Milei.

Born on July 18, 1996, in San Miguel, Buenos Aires Province, Romo has become one of the most prominent figures in LLA’s youth wing and a central player in shaping the party’s digital operations. He is closely associated with Las Fuerzas del Cielo, a militia-like youth faction known for its reactionary aesthetic and quasi-paramilitary rhetoric, blending Christian crusader imagery with pseudo–Roman imperial symbolism.

Romo’s political activity began in 2018 through social media, where he gained attention for his hard-right libertarian commentary and ideological trolling. By July 2021, he was appointed Director of Digital Communications for LLA, where he helped form the party’s online presence.

One of Romo’s key innovations was the use of informal WhatsApp amplification groups, enabling coordinated networks of influencers, activists, and meme accounts to rapidly disseminate right-wing content. This tactic allowed LLA to bypass algorithmic filters on platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok, ensuring virality. Similar strategies have been deployed by the far-right Alternative for Germany, particularly in TikTok operations overseen by digital strategist Erik Ahrens, with whom Romo shares notable methodological parallels.

In the 2023 elections, Romo was elected as a provincial deputy for Buenos Aires. Shortly afterward, he was appointed head of the LLA bloc in the Buenos Aires Provincial Legislature, replacing Nahuel Sotelo.

Romo remains a key figure in the pseudo-religious, ultra-reactionary digital wing of the Milei movement, promoting a hybrid ideology that fuses free-market libertarianism with cultural conservatism.
