(1948–2020) was an Azerbaijani politician and Minister of Internal Affairs between 1992–1993.

Hamidov was the founder and chairperson of the Boz Guard, which means “Grey Wolves” in Azerbaijani. The political party Hamidov founded is today called the National Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (PDPA).

Hamidov’s organsiation shared the pan-Turkish outlook of the MHP and Hamidov argued for the establishment of a single country which encompassed northern Iran and China. During the first Nagorno-Karabakh War, Hamdidov threatened to drop nuclear bombs on the cities of Khankendi and Yerevan if the Armenians did not surrender.

Hamidov was arrested and convicted for embezzlement of state funds in 1995. However, despite this obstacle, in its current incarnation, the PDPA claims to have stayed true to Hamidov’s ideas and remains an ideological ally of Turkey’s MHP.
