John Tang

John Tang is a longtime practitioner of Falun Gong. Born in China, Tang immigrated to the United States in 1993 as a graduate student in physics at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech). During his studies in 2000, Tang founded the original Mandarin version of The Epoch Times (Dajiyuan) from his Atlanta basement, later attracting other Falun Gong practitioners to help him build the publications’ success. His devotion to Falun Gong is cited as “one of the main reasons he decided to establish The Epoch Times.”
