Mark Feierstein is a senior advisor at CLS Strategies.

He also serves as a non-resident senior adviser with the Americas Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and senior advisor with the Latin America program at the United States Institute of Peace. Prior to his role at CSIS, he served as principal advisor to the administrator at USAID. He has written numerous pieces about the ‘need for democracy’ in Venezuela in recent years.

Feierstein has spent more than three decades in the public and private sectors, including working as deputy chief of mission for the U.S. Mission to the Organization of American States (OAS). During the tenure of the Obama administration, Feierstein was assistant administrator for Latin America and the Caribbean at USAID and president and senior director for Western Hemisphere Affairs on the National Security Council. Under the Clinton administration, he served as director of USAID’s global elections office. Outside of the government, he worked as director for Latin America at the National Democratic Institute and as a journalist in the United States and Mexico.

With Dentons Global Advisors and Albright Stonebridge Group, Feierstein advises clients on investment risks and opportunities in Latin America. Feierstein also works with the polling firm GBAO, where he conducts public opinion research on multinational companies, foundations, and political figures around the world.
