Sharon Slater
Sharon Slater is an anti-abortion and anti-LGBT+ activist.

Slater is the president of Family Watch International and chair of the UN Global Family Forum. She also sits on the board of CitizenGo. In 1999, Slater attended the World Congress of Families in Geneva and founded Family Watch International as a result.

Between 2001 and 2006, Slater was president of United Families International, a Christian conservative organization that advances ‘traditional family values’ by campaigning against LGBTQ+ rights. Through this organisation, Slater cemented herself in anti-LGBT activist networks at the UN and in Africa. Senator Andy Biggs was a policy advisor to UFI.

As head of FWI, Slater has spoken at numerous international conservative conferences, where she has advanced the claims that gay people are more likely to be pedophiles and supported conversion therapy. Slater compares supporting homosexuality to enabling addicts. Her most recent focus is a campaign against Comprehensive Sexual Education (CSE). Much of FWI’s work in Africa is enabled by Slater’s personal relationships, such as her close ties to President Museveni.

Slater’s husband, Greg Slater, is an advisor to FWI and is a Vice President at Intel.
