The association Acción Contra el Odio (Action Against Hate) and the magazine CTXT have reached an agreement to join the international research consortium The Reactionary International, of which they will become a collaborating entity, sharing journalistic content, resources, and lines of research. This alliance aims to join forces and share knowledge in the fight against the industry of hate and disinformation at the global level.
The Reactionary International is a research consortium aimed at tracking and monitoring connections in the global sphere of politicians, platforms, think tanks, media outlets, foundations, judges, and journalists and examines the coordinated and interconnected growth of the far right and reactionary movements around the world, as well as their funding channels and allies.
Among the entities that make up the consortium are the Progressive International (PI), which in turn includes more than 100 organizations globally; the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO), the European network for dialogue and critical thinking transform!europe, and the research support platform Autonomy Institute. This is a group of organizations that share a common vision of the need to investigate and address the strategies necessary to expose and denounce the insidious practices and anti-democratic discourse against the most vulnerable groups in a transnational network emboldened by the global elites.
With this addition to the consortium, Action Against Hate celebrates its first six months of existence. During these six months, almost a dozen complaints and reports have been filed with various institutions, culminating in milestones such as the opening of an investigation into a possible hate crime against the far-right activist Daniel Esteve (Desokupa), and our contribution to the proposal to change the regulation for granting accreditation to the Congress following the request to withdraw the credentials of the far-right agitator Vito Quiles.
