Silas Malafaia
Silas Malafaia is a Brazilian neo-Pentecostal pastor, televangelist and Assembly of God leader.

He is known for his active social media presence, reactionary views against abortion, feminism and homosexuality, and for touting prosperity theology — the religious belief that economic well-being is a gift from God. According to Forbes, he is the third-richest pastor in Brazil, with a net worth of 150 million dollars.

He is a key and vocal player in the evangelical network supporting Brazil’s far-right, alongside Edir Macedo, the billionaire founder of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God. In March 2018, he endorsed Jair Bolsonaro as a presidential candidate, stating that he was the “only one who directly defends the ideology of the right.” By the end of 2018, 59% of self-reported evangelicals supported Bolsonaro compared to the 26% that supported Fernando Haddad.

On January 8, 2023, he supported the riots in Brasilia, calling it a "people's demonstration." He has taken to social media several times to rally against the Supreme Federal Court, specifically Alexandre de Moraes, and called for military intervention. In response to Bolsonaro’s coup probe in February 2024, he posted: “COWARDLY AND PSYCHOLOGICAL WAR WILL NOT SCARE US! DEMOCRATIC STATE OF LAW NOW!”
